Founded in 2006, The Center for Guided Montessori Studies (CGMS) offers very comprehensive online learning courses which incorporate cutting edge web-based and video technologies to provide quality online Montessori training at a distance. CGMS offers both teacher training certificate programs and continuing education for experienced Montessori teachers.
New! Starting March 22nd we are launching an Elementary Certificate training program. This new, 30 month program will provide the same high standard of blended distance and low-residential training as our Primary Certificate program. The course includes a full year practicum experience at an authentic Montessori school that meets CGMS standards for authenticity. We also provide our Montessori Online Training materials to training programs that wish to supplement face-to-face weekend seminars with a distance learning component.
Our Early Childhood Full Certificate program has become the first MACTE accredited Montessori teacher training course which primarily uses distance methods. Please understand that neither our Elementary, nor our professional development programs are MACTE accredited. All CGMS courses are recognized under the International Montessori Council (IMC) guidelines. The IMC guidelines mandate hours that exceed MACTE standards.
